Ok people, here's the deal!

So as some of you know, Mr. Dan (here's his blog by the way)

has been saying that I'm "wrong" and that I think all "kids are stupid" Well I guess that is, in part, my fault for not putting a lot of detail into my post. I don't think all kids are stupid... but there really are a lot of retarded and boneheaded kids out there, and no one could argue with that.

Example of, in my opinion, dumb kids...

But anyways, I really don't blame these kids! I believe that it's the media and parents who let their kids see whatever it is they want! Seriously, it hurts to hear young children curse and wanting to dress a kind of way because "it's their own unique style" when in reality they're just following the crowd! The media puts these subliminal messages in their ads, commercials, and television shows that make them think how it is they have to dress, feel, act, etc, etc. And I'm not just saying this. I've experienced this.

It hurts me that I'm typing this but I too use to watch MTV, VH1, BET, and all those other popular channels when I was young! And you know what those channels did to me? It's like they controlled me to want to dress baggy, listen to rap, and "fuck bitches" (yea it's disgusting I know). I just thank God I grew up quick and decided to be me in my sophomore year of high school. I started to dress how I want and thought of everyone around me (my fellow peers in school) as mindless sheep! And I still feel like that but now I know, in my opinion, that it's the media messing these kids up and it's parents who should regulate what their kids watch unless they want...

a) A thug

b) A wannabe thug

c) A scene kid
 d) etc, etc

etc, etc, and etc! If parents don't start regulating what their children are watching and what people they associate themselves with, they're going to end up with something they wish they never bought into this world!

I have so much to say, my fellow bloggers, but I don't want to make this a really long post and I am really tired from another sleepless night. But if you guys want to hear more I'll be happy to make a part 2 of this rant or post or w.e you want to call it. And also, check out Dan's blog and tell me what you think.

Oh, and Dan, I know Jersey Shore isn't just a disgrace to Italian Americans, I totally agree with you dude that it's a disgrace to all of us. I just put "Italian Americans" since they are Italian Americans and many people are now thinking that all Italian Americans are like those people in Jersey Shore!

So thanks again my fellow bloggers for viewing and reading! Stay tuned to Rants That You Will Love!

  8. There are a lot of mindless crowd followers. But I also think some people are oblivious to the fact they are following the crowd because they buy all their clothes at the mall.

  10. It puts me in a rage when I see middle school aged kids who try to dress like thugs.

I have started disliking kids more and more lately. I kinda wish a small group of 11-13 year olds would try to jump me, just so I can show 'em what for.

  14. The popsicle kid wasn't stupid by his own merits, but you all know how something changes when it's made into an image macro...

  15. @WorldCraft: But he was still posing like a typical "gangsta" in the photo. I would've put it without the text but that's all I had, sorry.

  16. Not much to add except for the fact that the popsicle was actually a small shovel.

  23. It's sad that most Americans are obese, and the fast food companies are to blame!

  24. It wasn't that long ago that the so-called mainstream media felt an obligation to instill positive values in youth, and put out mostly positive messages in general. I don't know what exactly has happened lately as all these media corporations now are only concerned about making money and are very cynical about it too. They believe most people are stupid, so they provide the stupidest entertainment possible they believe these people will eat up... So the mass media machine has an epic dumbing down effect on all of humanity, and it turns into an evil circle as more and more stupid material is disseminated, causing more people to act stupid, leading to the creation and dissemination of yet more stupidity. Well, thats my 2 cents.

  25. Great post, freaking lol'd at the wendys pic!

I agree with Jimmy as well!

  26. I disagree to an extent. Mainstream media dumbs down people that were easy to manipulate in the first place. If it wasn't the mainstream media, then these same people would fall victim to some other form of manipulation from a different source, like religious fanaticism or falling in with a bad crowd that makes them do things that person would not do when acting alone. A lot of people are spineless wimps who will just go with the crowd. That is human nature.

With that said, I fully agree that it is a parent's responsibility to make sure their children are led down the right path. Sometimes you have to do things as a parent that seem mean to a child, like stopping them from seeing certain people and actually enforcing rules and punishments. It sucks for the kids at the time, but there's usually a good reason for it. It wasn't until I turned about 25-26 that I realized that my mom actually may have been right about some things when I was a kid.

  27. I love to see U 2 argue over something. Don't take me wrong. An argument betwen 2 people always generates something interesting and lets you know about other peeps opinions. It's a good thing

  28. I have to admit that I was the wannabe thug at one point in my life. It was a phase that I went through most of middle school and freshman year posing. Then, like you, I saw the light in my sophomore year.

  29. Every thing around us affects our personality. The things we pay attention to effect it the most

    ReplyDelete
  30. As sense said, parents and media does play a part in a child's personality but so does their friends. If the child is easily influenced by his or her friends, and most of the time friends are more of an influence than media OR parents... then it's up to the "mercy" of the friends or the child if the child can make decisions for his or her self.
